What kind of book invites you to try to find fault with it?
Reflection
Most claims to divine authority ask for trust first and questions later, if at all. It is worth noticing when a text does the reverse: it hands you the tools of criticism and tells you to use them.
Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.
- Qur'anQur'an 4:82
Explanation
The Qur'an was revealed over twenty-three years, in peace and war, prosperity and grief, to a man who could not read, on subjects from law to cosmology to the inner life. Its own test is: does it hold together? That is a test you can run yourself — by reading it. Not summaries of it. It.
