One Message, Many Prophets
The Qur'anic account of revelation across history.
Islam
And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner.
- Qur'anQur'an 35:24
The Qur'an frames history as a repeated pattern: a people drift, a messenger is sent from among them speaking their language, some accept and some refuse.
Twenty-five prophets are named. The Qur'an also states that many others were not named at all, so Muslims make no claim about which figures outside the text were prophets.
